Crazy for Gold

With the festive season here and new year approaching, it's the perfect time to dress up, all glamorous and sparkly.
As I was browsing through the net, I stumbled upon Chictopia and here is a look that is SO ME! Honestly, I absolutely adore this look and you know when you find that dress and nothing else compares, well, that is how I feel with this beautifully beaded gold dress.

The details on the dress are so well thought out. The circular lines and the plunging neckline reminds me of the Art Deco Movement.
Here are other looks I really like and that I could wear other times...

Some sparkles

For the past few months, I was frustrated with my hair because I didn't really know what to do with it. Let's just say that I am more of a 'braid my hair please, so it's easier to manage' girl. But things changed when I had a random convo with B's neighbor. I got the answers to all of my questions about hair. Seriously...YOUTUBE! How could not have thought about that earlier? All I had to do was go on the website and type in afro hair, thick hair, natural hair...something along those line and -KAPOW- lots of suggestions came up. I'm still looking around trying to see what's out there.
For this look I'm sporting, all I did was:
1. condition my hair
2. comb it while it was still wet
3. twist my hair in little knots
and VOILA! I think I resemble my sister Bijou xx

'Zenab, you look bright today' was the first comment I got from my classmate :)
'Don't you think this is a bit bright?' was another comment :) :)
'I know, I'm just feeling really good today' i said :D

So U Think U Can Dance

This past weekend, I went to H's birthday dinner at Souk Medina, in Covent Garden. The food was so gooodness :b May I advise that if you ever visit London town, it's a great place to dine.
I wore a striped dress I got a while ago from Risky. What really made me l.o.v.e. this dress are the holes on the shoulders. It made it so different from any typical striped dress.
So, without any further comment, here's me belly dancing...

Hope your weekend was as AMAZING as mine, xx.

Up and Running

This past week, I had more life drawing classes and here are peeks of my work...

loving the effect of the ripped 'wine' paper + charcoal

Using collages...

I really love life drawing. To be honest, I didn't really like it at the beginning but I really really love it now. It has tremendously helped me with capturing the proportions of the body. I just want to keep drawing...
On the other hand, This is what I wore on Tuesday.

Helloooo winter...

A bow in hair

Yesterday, our class went to see the works of Edgar Degas. Great painter/photographer. It's a shame we weren't allowed to snap any photos. This is what I wore on the day. The photos were taken once we got back to class, during lunch to be exact, where I experimented with my hair. I adore bows + Lady Gaga

Skirt was a purchase from the market in Paris. Top and the oxford shoes are M&S and the bag is from Goodwill, bought years ago in Indianapolis. Have I mentioned how much I miss living in America? *tears*

Trapeze and all that zzz

Had so much fun with this little shoot. Thanks you Mo-nisha :)

I got the skirt (from h&m) a while ago and this is the first time i've actually worn it. My fav market bargain, the heartsy top and my comfy m&s flats. I actually wanted to wear heels because the skirt is quite short, but hey, walking around college in heels is not the best feeling.
Happy Tuesday everyone!

This reminds me of...

I L.O.V.E my Lady G and when I saw this face of hers in her new video, my brain cells directed me directly to one of my favorite childhood cartoon character, Rafiki from the Lion King!
