25!

Yesterday was my birthday.  To be honest, I wish everyday was my birthday! I unashamedly loved all the attention and birthday wishes.
At a quarter life stage of my life, I feel good.  Good in a way that I am less self conscious, instead I am more aware of myself.  And most importantly, I am happy :)
Happy with the choices I have made in life, happy about where I am going and excited about the future.
I think 25 will be good to me just as 24 was, if not better.
Here it goes...

Little recaps

Little recaps from last week...

Flew to Portugal

with local Andre, who was our driver and tour guide around the city.

I found the perfect toy boy.  His name was Teddy, Teddy Bear and I kissed him. (He kissed me back!)

Vamos a la praia

Spent our days at the beach.

One night, we went to a classic rock club, courtesy of Andre's papa...

but first we stopped by Andre's Grandmother's studio.

And I loved every bit of it!

Take me back to Portugal...

Anyone hiring?

Last week I graduated from The London College of Fashion.
Did it wearing my all time favorite vintage thrift dress (had to change the shoes, the black ones would of made me fall on stage).

So...what now?
Oh you know, the usual, finding a career and doing something I am passionate about.
But put aside the degree, I am absolutely blessed to have so many beautiful people as my backbone.
To my family. Dysfunctional most of the times but I am so grateful, you make me want a better life and my sisters who inspire me to be a wonder woman!  You've shown me that it is OK to go after what you want.
My amazing friends.  Most of whom have made me realize what an amazing relationship and bond we share and push me to be a better and kinder person.
Lovers who broke my heart. You lot make me see how much I want to progress in life and not be an idiot with a narrow mind.  But no hard feelings :b

And my supporters!!! Lyndsey aka. Tomato and Ani aka. Anitus/mom's twinie.

I am so happy!
Now hire me!

The night I met Leyla Hussain

I don't really talk about 'issues' on my page and tend to keep everything lighthearted, but this is something that I grew up around and I never really understood the meaning behind it.  Going back to my childhood memories, I'd remember seeing little girls wearing matching dresses with matching head wraps and I would think to myself how much I wanted to be part of their group; but little did I realize that it was the unspoken act that these girls had been cut.
FGM.
Female Genital Mutilation.
A few months ago, this issue was widely documented by Leyla Hussain, an FGM survivor.  I got to meet her and other women who had undergone the same trauma.  These are strong women who refuse to victimize themselves but chose to stand for a cause.  They stand with their heads high and speak on behalf of the ones who cannot and all the young girls who face the vile act of genital mutilation.
I applause Leyla for strong character, her sincere words and her passion for her cause to put an end to Female Genital Mutilation.  What a privilege it was meeting her, and ever so sweet she was.

And I can't thank Tomato enough for taking me to the show that evening, seeing Jo Brand live and introducing to Leyla. This girl is totally cool like that!!! So sweet and so awesome!

Awkward and all

"Don't just stand there with your awkward poses, do something!" - Anne Marie, the photographer.
So I tried...

My attire.
I love thrift stores so much! Everything I am wearing here is thrifted except the shoes, which are from Primark.

Till then, Xx.

CAPS

The night of the exhibition went well.
Followed by a few hiccups, selfies and pouts...but nothing major.

Wearing one of my favorite 'lazy' skirts that I just throw on whenever I have an outfit crisis, simply because it gets me ready within minutes instead of crawling through my closet trying to find something to wear.

Another skill I acquired...friends teaching me how to roll. And no, I am not a smoker, but I like to roll.

Exhibition

If you are in London this week, my work will be shown here!!!
Come out and support :)

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it...
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it...

Leo season

It's the first of July!
And I am almost 25!!
I will be graduating university in 2 weeks which makes me feel relieved, yet overwhelmed by the fact that I have to sort out what I want to do now, with my life.  I mean where do I see myself in the next 5 years? *buries face in hand*
What's a girl to do but take shameless photos of herself on the rooftop...and vent about things she likes...like fashion, marketing, thrift shops, traveling, food, weekends...
I don't know what I'll end up doing but I think I have an idea about where I'd like to start.

Happy and all in my thrifted daisy dress.
